At the beginning of the season, everyone thought Benny Snell would have a chance to win the Heisman, and he did. After his performance in College Station against Texas A&M, any chances of him winning the Heisman trophy were pretty much gone.
There has been one guy that has performed at a consistently high level this season and that is the man above, Josh Allen. The linebacker from Virginia has been the best defensive player for the Cats this season and has been one of the best players for Kentucky all season.
The once Monmouth commit, now Kentucky defensive star is listed as a top ten Heisman candidate. Don’t believe me? Check it out:
Now, I know it’s only one vote and him winning it isn’t possible. But, you do have to admit, it’s pretty cool that Kentucky has had two Heisman candidates this season.
The senior linebacker has had 56 total tackles, 35 solo tackles, and 10 sacks through eight games.
If Allen performs well on the national stage against Georgia, we should see him move up on the list.
